Our research revealed that most competitors rarely draw on European influences, and individual spending on these beverages is generally low. The name “Ceci et Cela”—meaning “this and that”—was chosen to embody two distinct qualities: “Ceci” representing French elegance, and “Cela” reflecting Taiwan’s warm, friendly service. The menu reinforces this duality by categorizing offerings into Ceci (beverages) and Cela (French-style snacks). Notably, the decision to combine French lifestyle with Taiwanese service was derived from a mini branding strategy project we conducted for the client, which highlighted a unique opportunity to blend these cultural elements.

Challenge
Ceci et Cela needed to distinguish itself from the typical Taiwanese hand-shaken beverage brands, which predominantly lean toward an Asian bohemian aesthetic. The goal was to create a brand that exudes a relaxed, unrestrained French attitude while delivering a refined experience. The packaging had to be designed for limited-color printing on cold drink cups, and the shop card/menu concept was envisioned as a boarding pass, inviting customers to enjoy Taiwanese hand-shaken beverages with a Parisian twist.
Solution
We designed the logo using a one- or three-color scheme to ensure flawless printing on cold drink cups. The logo features free-form, signature-like brush strokes—reminiscent of a handwritten note or travel postcard—that capture the carefree essence of French art and leisure. Supporting graphics use bold color blocks to evoke the dynamic atmosphere of an art gallery. Meanwhile, the shop card and menu draw inspiration from boarding passes, guiding customers on a journey through the Ceci et Cela experience, where Parisian sophistication meets Taiwanese charm.
Outcome/Results
Ceci et Cela successfully carved out a unique niche in the competitive beverage market by merging French elegance with local warmth. The innovative design not only set the brand apart from its competitors but also contributed to the successful launch of its first branch, attracting consumers eager for a refined, hand-shaken drink experience with a distinctive cultural twist.
