Our research showed that a community-focused brand must embody sincerity and trust. To resonate with local consumers, the brand needed to feel authentic and rooted in tradition while offering a fresh, modern twist. The name had to reflect these values and even connect with the founder’s legacy.

Challenge
The parent company, Ki A Peng Sian (枝仔冰城 "Ice Pop Town") from Southern Taiwan, aimed to break into Northern Taiwan’s metro markets—especially Taipei—with a modern brand focused on local residential communities rather than competing on busy main streets.
Solution
We developed the name Sincere Cold Treats (誠字號 涼本舖). “Sincere” emphasizes the genuine, heartfelt attitude of the brand, and “字號” gives an old-school, established feel. “Cold Treats” modernizes the traditional ice treat concept. Notably, the character “誠” (pronounced “Cheng”) echoes the founder Zheng “Cheng”’s name, reinforcing the brand’s local heritage. We then created a playful visual identity featuring charming illustrations of a local figure holding a bowl of treats, handwritten typography, and a bright orange and cool blue palette to capture a warm yet modern aesthetic.
Outcome/Results
The distinctive identity of Sincere Cold Treats resonated with local customers. The cohesive design system—from stickers and cup sleeves to business cards and downloadable LINE stickers—helped the brand stand out. This success attracted significant local interest and franchise opportunities in the Greater Taipei Area, establishing a strong foothold in the metro market while honoring its southern roots.
